Alexis and Jose’s Wedding at Andaz Scottsdale

Love story-inspired builds have become our favorite thing! Alexis and Jose are actually one of the couples that sparked the idea to introduce these types of displays into our business as a staple for The Details Duo. This couple found us through their wedding planner Brittney, and we immediately fell in love with their story! They were so excited to integrate personal aspects into special pieces of their day, and this really stood out to us.

Alexis and Jose’s wedding day took place at the Andaz Scottsdale. This venue’s location is absolutely breathtaking as it showcases Camelback Mountain that sits so majestically in the background. With a timeless modern style, this venue allows its couples to really customize the space and add their own personal touch — and that’s where we come in!

For Alexis and Jose, we executed quite a few custom pieces: a “will call” escort display, welcome moment-photo op, large bar panels, guestboard, table “numbers” and an Elote dessert sign! We had so much fun fabricating their personalized decor, special shoutout to Jesse from Freja Creative for contributing her graphic design skills! But, we couldn’t have done this without the amazing ideas Alexis and Jose brought to the table.

A Sporty Love Story

Back in 2015, Alexis and Jose found themselves at Levi Stadium where they worked for the San Francisco 49ers. This is where their love story began! As they furthered their careers in sports and fell deeply in love, the two became inseparable. To honor the way they met and built the core of their relationship, Alexis and Jose wanted to incorporate the stadiums most important to them into their wedding day details. The stadium theme is carried out beautifully within the escort display and tables, we can’t wait to share those details with you a little later in this blog post! First, we have to talk about the incredible welcome moment and photo op that welcomed guests to the Andaz Scottdale.

If you can’t tell already, Alexis and Jose know how to make a statement! The first personalized detail guests saw was the show-stopping welcome moment we designed alongside our couple. With a gorgeous color palette of terracotta, peach, and coral, we built a display featuring our tall full arch panel and two of our smaller half-arch panels. On one side, we had “Alexis and Jose” in white raised acrylic lettering while a beautifully designed arrangement by Bloom and Blueprint sat at the foot of the half-arch panels. This whole design came together flawlessly and was the perfect photo op for guests as they entered the venue!

A + J’s beautiful ceremony was held on the Chollo Lawn of Andaz Scottsdale, right in front of Camelback Mountain. So dreamy! After witnessing the official union of the newlyweds, guests headed to cocktail hour where they were greeted by the most adorable Beer Burro! For cocktail hour, we created three tall bar panels that matched the welcome sign. One tall terracotta arch panel sat to the left of the bar, displaying Alexis and Jose’s chosen spirits listed in raised lettering. To the right, we had our smaller coral half-arch panels detailing the beers and wines offered.

“Will Call” Escort Display

Alright, now it’s time for the main event: the escort display! Each guest received a paper “ticket” instead of a traditional escort card.

We constructed three large pillars featuring the same gorgeous, warm wedding color palette. On each panel we attached the card sleeves, where each ticket slid into. One of our favorite details of this wedding at Andaz was the seating tickets, which provided a QR code leading guests to Alexis and Jose’s wedding website. These tickets also contained a special nod to their wedding date seen in the “section, row, seat” and ticket price line.

Oh, but it just keeps getting better — the custom details didn’t stop there! Guests needed to know where they were headed of course, which leads us to the “table” aka stadium. Listed on each of the guest’s individual tickets was the name of a different stadium. And, to make things even sweeter Alexis and Jose included a sentimental blurb on the bottom of each ticket about why that specific stadium is so special to them and how it played a part in their relationship. This escort display was perfection, and one of our favorites to date! Need we say more?

When installing on-site we knew it had to be perfect, so we paid close attention to even the tiniest of details (hence, our name The Details Duo)! We started by creating a template for each escort card pocket, making sure each piece was placed with precision and perfectly aligned. The final result made every small detail worth it, and we couldn’t love the concept of this display more! SO FUN, and so unique to Alexis and Jose.

Time for Dessert

With the end of the night approaching, it was time to set out the desserts and display the iconic “I love you Elote” sign. If you know us, you know how much we adore a good play on words! A circle-shaped acrylic piece was customized in white raised lettering with this phrase, and was such a perfect final detail for their wonderful wedding at Andaz.

Being a part of the process in which Alexis and Jose infused their love story into their wedding day inspired us to specialize in creating more love story-inspired displays.
