2020 was a tough year for many, but it encouraged us to share and spread love. This year brought many relationships to life and we have loved being a part of some of these stories. For Ana and Alex, 2020 was the year their love story began and they are the perfect example of “when you know, you know!” We absolutely loved being a part of their day and creating custom displays for their wedding at The Royal Palms in Scottsdale.

Ana and Alex’s Love Story
While scrolling through Hinge, they both happened to swipe right on each other’s profile and before they knew it they were setting up a time to have their first date.
Alex had asked Ana out to dinner but she preferred their first date to be a bit more casual, in fact, she actually had a massage appointment scheduled for later that night and knew that would be a great reason to leave the date if things went south. Well, so the story goes, they happened to have an amazing first date — Ana even considered canceling her massage but didn’t want to pay that sneaky late fee, haha! As Ana left she told herself that if this was meant to be Alex would reach back out. And, sure enough after her massage appointment, she had the sweetest message from him waiting for her. Alex gushed about how amazing that first date was and he knew he had to see her again!
Their chemistry was real and everything felt right. Their love took off and they started planning their life together. They would spend evenings driving through neighborhoods looking at homes they could see themselves buying together and discussing all the exciting future plans they had. One evening, instead of their usual drive, Alex took a bike ride through the Scottsdale Waterfront. He loved riding his bike to clear his mind and refocus; this ride was a little different than usual. He was riding by the water when it hit him. He HAD to propose to Ana and he had to do it right here in front of the water. A few months later, he popped the question!
“Life In Tandem”
Ana shared their story with us when we first began talking with her about the details of their big day. We LOVED the note about the bike ride, them attending a spin class together, as well as how they both enjoy being active together, and wanted to find a way to incorporate that detail into the wedding day decor. Ana and Alex were trusting enough to let us run with some of our ideas, one being the “love story-driven” seating chart. This wedding was so much fun for us and was a great glimpse into what the future of The Details Duo would become!

We brought their wedding day details to life with the custom seating display, signage, and drink stirrers. It was so much fun seeing how well these details came together at their venue! The Royal Palms is such a charming space with Spanish-inspired architecture and the most romantic garden vibes. Their ceremony took place in the sweet Alegria garden and the flowers were incredible. It felt like we had been planning these details for so long and to see them come to life was such a highlight! One of our favorite parts of the entire day though was their ceremony. This portion of the day was incredibly important to both Ana and Alex, with heartfelt vows and a family-focused ceremony. Ana’s brother walked her down the aisle and all guests were tuned in. It was so important to them that their guests stayed present and enjoyed this moment with them.
Wedding day details play a huge role in making a huge impact. It may seem like the smallest element but it truly takes your wedding day to the next level! Whether you’re looking for adorable drink stirrers, custom signage, or beautiful builds we have the service for you! Ana and Alex were the kindest and we loved taking care of these details for them. Enjoy the rest of their wedding day below!
