It’s officially the new year and that means it’s time for some new wedding decor ideas! We’ve seen the trends change over the years and some of those trends have definitely stuck. But, we know that you want your wedding to stand out from the rest, because who doesn’t love a wedding that’s totally you? We’re here to help you get ahead of the curve so that your wedding is one that your guests will rave about! Sometimes the smallest details are the perfect place to incorporate new concepts; small enough to not pull away from your overall wedding aesthetic but noticeable and able to make a big impression. Spicing up your tables and place settings is the perfect way to add in these small yet crucial details. Let’s talk about some wedding tablescape ideas, shall we?

Find Your Seat!

1. Custom Place Settings

You’ve said “I Do” and have enjoyed delicious cocktails and hors d’oeuvres with your guests, now it’s time for the other main event… dinner! When attending a wedding there is nothing more stressful than trying to find out your assigned seat, so why not make things easy on your guests and let them know where to sit? They’ll be thankful that they don’t need to hunt down the perfect spot! A fantastic way to spice up your tablescape is by creating custom place settings for each of your guests. This is such a great way to create a dining experience that feels personal and intentional. Your guests will absolutely love the fact that you took the time to consider them in the details of your wedding day.

2. Personalized dinner menus

If you want to do something sweet and simple, consider personalized menus. This can be done with paper goods, or if you want to go all out order laser-cut acrylic menus! Add a little bit of spice to your menu by adding your guest’s name to the top with the meal that they will be eating below. It’s an easy way to not only allow your guests to see where they’re sitting, but it also reminds them what they’ll be enjoying for dinner. Because let’s be honest… who ever really remembers if they chose the chicken or the beef three months ago?

3. Custom Place Cards

Are you aiming to make things a little more personal? Consider ordering unique place cards. In a previous blog post, we talked about how your escort cards can double as guest favors. We are all about customization, so this is seriously one of our favorite wedding tablescape ideas! We suggest making something fun such as unique coasters with your guests’ names on them, or something beautiful like laser-cut name tags. If you choose something conventional like coasters, they are not only cohesive with your wedding day but serve a purpose! Laser-cut names are simple and aesthetic. Your guests will love the complex yet chic style that they present! Plus, who doesn’t love to see their name written out in a super cool way? So fun!

4. Statement Name Plaques

Want something that will really stand out? You’ll be obsessed with these statement name pieces! For this amazing couple, Amy and John, we created laser cutouts of the Superstition Mountains in Arizona. Each plaque had a guest’s name engraved into it so they could easily identify their seat. These laser cuts sat at each place setting and were such stunning additions to the table. It was a mini slice of AZ that complimented the natural outdoor reception backdrop so perfectly! This idea is perfect for those brides and grooms who are trying to stay a bit more budget conscious and not bring in a ton of fresh floral, or if you want something that is sure to grab your guest’s attention!

5. Creative Charger Plates

Dinner is often one of the most memorable portions of each wedding. From the decor on the tables to the quality of the food and the toasts that make us all cry, it’s a highlight for sure! But have you thought about what your dinner will actually be served on? Probably not, it’s a small detail but oh-so-important! One amazing way to spice up your wedding tables is by creating custom chargers. That’s right, bring out the dinner plates because your guests are about to dine on some of the COOLEST chargers ever! Rental companies have a lot to offer, but they may not have exactly what you’re looking for. Creating your own custom chargers is a great way to invest that money that you would spend anyway into a dinner plate that fits your vision perfectly. Bonus: these chargers could serve as a guest favor or you could even keep a set for yourselves to have in your first home as newlyweds!

6. Terrific Table Numbers

Keep the customizations coming on the dinner tables! We previously talked about the importance of letting your guests know which seat is theirs. It’s equally as important to let them know which table is which! Incorporating stylish table numbers is another one of our favorite wedding tablescape ideas. It’s a small detail that doesn’t usually take away from the overall look, but can also really elevate the table! Order custom laser cut numbers and add the name of meaningful cities or your favorite bands to the table numbers. We’ve even seen couples customize each table number to coincide with their baby photos. These small and often forgotten details go a long way and will surely be noticed by guests!
