Katy is like a real-life princess and she found her prince charming, Hunter. They are classy, elegant, and so incredibly sweet. Bringing their desert wedding to life took a lot of time and determination. After several venue changes among different states and three different wedding dates, Katy and Hunter were so ecstatic to FINALLY hold their wedding at Desert Mountain Golf Course & Country Club in Scottsdale, AZ. Desert Mountain Golf Course & Country Club is a beautiful private Scottsdale community. It is loaded with dramatic desert vistas, lush fairways, and majestic mountain peaks. We couldn’t get enough of the beauty!

The wedding day
Behind the scenes was Kris from Konsider it Done, she brought the event to life and even did a full blog post about Katy and Hunter and their engagement story. We definitely recommend you check it out! Their friends and family were all looking forward to a destination wedding in Music City, but due to Covid they had to scrap their Nashville plans. They decided to look elsewhere and eventually ended up with their picture-perfect desert wedding in Arizona! Katy and Hunter’s multiple wedding changes left them on a very tight four-month timeline, but everyone was up for the challenge! We were so excited to bring together some of their details for them and help achieve their dream wedding day vision.
Custom escort display with wood details
Katy and Hunter love to cook together, so we incorporated that special part of their relationship into their wedding day by using cutting boards as a focal point for their details. We were thrilled when they told us how they wanted to lean into wood elements for their decor. It was refreshing! So many couples are heading the modern route these days (which we also love) and it was so much fun to jump into some wood pieces again.
One of our favorite pieces we created for their wedding day was the escort display. We had a bunch of cutting boards and wood pieces varying in size, shape, texture, hung from a tall structure with twine. Similar to what we did for some of their other wedding details, we engraved the table names into the boards which added some gorgeous depth and a unique flare. To add the final perfect touch, Jesse Jo from Freja Creative hand-lettered each of the guests’ names! It was beautiful!
Personalized dinner menus
In addition to the escort display, I have to say that my favorite detail hands-down was the personalized menus set out at each place setting. Similar to the escort display, each menu was engraved. We had Katy and Hunter’s monogram carved at the top of each board along with the full menu. Freja Creative hand-lettered each of the guests’ names! Once we saw the cutting board menus on each place setting we were absolutely obsessed. I mean, we knew these were going to be good but WOW they looked unreal!
Katy and Hunter’s wedding color scheme was white with soft pastels and French blues. The cutting board menus were made from scratch in-house from natural cherry wood and engraved on our laser, resulting in a darker wood color for the text which gave a nice contrast. They popped against the chargers and table decor but also blended in cohesively to create a dreamy tablescape! The table name signs were also made from cherry wood, with a Special Walnut stain over top to differentiate them from the menus.
This French farmhouse inspired desert wedding was perfect from start to finish. Katy and Hunter wrote letters to each other and chose to read them together, back to back, prior to their first look. It was so incredibly sweet! The details of their wedding down to flipping the ceremony space for the reception were impeccable; the team flipped that space in 30 minutes flat! It was amazing to see the joy and love in Katy and Hunter’s eyes. They went through so much to make this wedding happen and the end result could not have been more beautiful. They danced the night away with their favorite people, enjoyed some delicious-looking cake (peep their pup Chief), and rode off into the moonlight for the start of the rest of their love story.
